Since January 2011 HSM, incorporating Laserstream Cutting, now operates out of our new factory and offices in Penrose. We now provide under one roof a full range of fabrication, engineering and profile cutting facilities. Both sides of the operation – HSM Engineering and Laserstream Cutting, are companies that have been operating for many years and have a combined staff with many years experience.
HSM Engineering
HSM has been proudly manufacturing tanks and silos for the Dairy, Wine and Brewing, Water Treatment and Chemical Industries for more than 35 years. HSM was initially set up by Brian Pellow and John Daley in 1975. In 2007 Craig Fraser bought out John’s share of the business and in 2008 purchased Brian’s shares to be the major owner, allowing Brian to spend a bit more time fishing!. Stewart Shields, HSM’s General Manager continues to have a shareholding and remains as a Director. The HSM team are made up of skilled long serving tradespeople. Craig Fraser and Stewart Shields manage a staff of 15 people, many of whom have been with HSM for many years.
Laserstream
In January 2009 HSM acquired Laserstream Cutting Ltd based in Rosebank Rd. This purchase of Laserstream means HSM has added laser cutting, water jet cutting and laser etching to their manufacturing repertoire. Laserstream has been involved in the New Zealand profile cutting industry since the 1980s, with an experienced team of operators, programming and service staff who have been working with laser and water jet technology for many years.
During 2010, HSM shifted from it’s old premises in East Tamaki into new premises in Church St Penrose and January 2011 Laserstream also shifted from their Avondale building. At the same time a new Amada 4kw Laser Cutter was purchased from Japan and installed, providing the combined HSM operation with the latest in cutting technology.
